
Lauren Smith Bearden is a costume designer and maker based in St Louis, Missouri. Prior to moving to St. Louis, she completed her MFA in Theatre with an emphasis in costume design and technology at the University of Florida. She began designing and constructing costumes and props for various companies around the metro area. She served as the costume director for Winter Opera Saint Louis from 2020 until 2022 before transitioning to freelance full time. Favorite local credits include The Gondoliers (WOStL), Hedwig and the Angry Inch (Q-Collective) King Lear (Ozark Actors Theatre). Bearden also works for local colleges such as Missouri Baptist University, East Central College and Fontbonne University as a guest designer, theatre instructor, and director.
